You have an infant or toddler, and you own a rear-facing infant car seat.
Because your car was built after 2002, you can install the infant car seat base using the LATCH system.
If possible, install the car seat in the center of the back seat – the safest point in case of crashes.
You’ll attach the seat base with the 2 belted hooks to anchor bars located below the seatback, making sure the reclining level meets the manufacturer’s specifications.
Pull on the tightening strap and check that the hooks are securely attached to the anchor points.
The base should not move more than an inch from side to side.
Then, attach the rear-facing carrier, placing the handlebar in the position suggested by the car seat manufacturer.
